The SINTRAPORT association advances the elections for May

The General Assembly of Sintraport and Cotraport announced last Saturday that it would advance the elections to the Board of Directors, scheduled for the month of October, to May 17. The current president of Cotraport and Sintraport, Jorge Fernández, comments that the current board will not run for president again, “unless no one shows up.”

Once the members of the Board of Directors present themselves for the Sintraport and Cotraport elections, which must be a minimum of three people, the members of the board and the president will be elected, who have a term of four years. As Fernández clarifies, the progress of the elections is “an operational issue”, since it would make it easier for the incoming board to have the entire summer to present itself to clients.

Achievements and projects of Cotraport and Sintraport

Of the period that closes the current Board of Directors, Jorge Fernández highlights the collective resolution of the fine imposed by the CNMC. Also, the professionalization of Sintraport, an association of autonomous transporters of Barcelona, with the hiring of Juan Pozo, who performs the functions of manager in Sintraport and Cotraport, or the reform of the internal regime to ensure that the outgoing board accompanies the new board while requested it “to avoid traumatic changes in the entity,” explains Fernández.

Likewise, he applauds the achievements obtained in the transport strikes that were called in 2022: “There was very good management and many measures were achieved for the sector,” mentions Jorge Fernández. And, finally, it highlights the new strategies that the association intends to achieve, such as the installation of a photovoltaic park in the Sintraport and Cotraport truck parking, “with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint”, a project that would be in negotiations. with the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium and CIMALSA.
