They are used to transport goods that require controlled temperature conditions in transit. Products such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products and meat. Refrigerated containers are equipped with a refrigeration unit that is connected to the electrical network of the ship, port terminals and trucks.<\/p>\n

The main characteristics of a refrigerated container are:

How does a reefer work?<\/h3>\n

Refrigerated containers are designed to maintain the temperature and humidity of the container for the entire duration of the transfer.
\nThere are four points to consider when using this type of container:<\/p>\n

Temperature<\/strong>. Most containers are designed to maintain a temperature ranging from -30\u00b0C to 30\u00b0C. They are mainly used for products that require cold temperatures for proper conservation.
\nVentilation<\/strong>. For the cold temperature, the air is indispensable to eliminate the heat and the gases produced by the ship or the same container. Ventilation is extremely important for products such as fruits and vegetables.
\nHumidity<\/strong>. Some products need a low level of humidity in the air in order to be preserved in the most appropriate way. This type of container also has the function of being able to regulate humidity and the standard is between 60% and 85%.
\nEvacuation points<\/strong>. They serve to remove excess water that accumulates inside the container.
\nThe most commonly used measurements are 40 and 20 feet.
